Police say they now have a photograph of one of the suspects accused of targeting elderly people in a scam.

Police in several cities including Portsmouth, Norfolk, Newport News, Hampton, Petersburg, and Albemarle County are working together to catch suspects accused of convincing elderly people to withdraw money from their bank accounts.

Police say the suspects have displayed law enforcement badges in most of the incidents.  In at least one incident they identified themselves as bank employees.

The language in the scam differs slightly in each case, but ultimately the victim is persuaded to withdraw large sums of money and turn it over to the suspects.

On several occasions the suspects were seen getting into a gray/silver Mercedes Benz, which displayed North Carolina license plates.

Police need your help to identify them.
