According to Michelle Price with Newport News Public Schools, two students at Mary Passage Middle School were busted after school officials found small amounts of marijuana in their possession.

Police took a report, and the students were released to their parents.  The students have been recommended for expulsion.

A parent of a student at the school contacted NewsChannel 3, upset that there was no alert sent out to parents.

She says her daughter told her one of the accused students waved a gun.

Price said there were no weapons involved, and if there had been, they would have sent out an alert.

NewsChannel 3 is working to gather more details about this case.
