Southampton County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Sunday after he allegedly assaulted his wife and two children.
Averick Montrell Ricks is being held in the Southhampton County Jail with no bond.
Deputies who responded to the home in the 24000 block of Sykes Drive Drewryville found Ricks’ 24-year-old wife with signs she had been assaulted and she complained her husband had choked her.
Deputies also found a 5-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy with bruises and scratches consistent with signs of assault.
The sheriff’s office says there is a protective order in place and Southampton Social Services is assisting in the investigation.
