Woman walking dog hit by car, killed in Chesapeake

Chesapeake, Va. - Police tell NewsChannel 3 a woman was hit by a car and killed in Chesapeake Wednesday morning.  

It happened at 7:45 a.m. According to Officer Kelly O'Sullivan, 69-year-old Nancy Gray of the 500 block of Dunning Lane was walking her dog at the intersection of Eagle Pointe Way and Dunning Lane when she was hit by a construction worker driving a Chevy Silverado. Police say the driver made a turn from a stop sign and then struck her. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The dog was not injured.

The crash is currently under investigation. Police say at this time, it does not appear speed or alcohol were factors.
