Newport News, Va. – A 71-year-old woman was killed in an accident at the intersection of Warwick Blvd. and Turlington Rd. Sunday afternoon.
Police say Lois Norton was pronounced dead at a local hospital about 2 hours after the accident, which happened around 3:20 pm.
Norton was headed north on Warwick and making the turn onto Turlington when her Chevy Malibu was struck by a Chrysler Pacifica heading south.
The Chrysler was driven by a 35-year-old Newport News man. He and his female passenger, a 49-year-old Virginia Beach woman, were treated for non-life threatening injuries and released from the hospital.
Police say charges are pending.
