Police searching for one of two men charged in Portsmouth shooting

Portsmouth, Va. - Portsmouth police have arrested one man and are looking for another after a shooting yesterday in the 1300 block of Peach Orchard Circle.

Police responded at about 1:55 pm to several calls of men shooting at each other and found a 20-year-old man fleeing from another man.

The 20-year-old told police he was with two others when one of them shot at him and missed. He ran and was being chased by the other man when officers found them.

Police arrested 19-year-old  Kennan Laquan Moody in the area of Long Point Boulevard and Breakwater Drive and charged him with attempted murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.  He is currently in the custody of the Portsmouth Sheriff’s Office. 

Police are still searching for 19 year-old Jahmel Tyjuan Haskett, of the 3800 block of Peachtree Lane in Portsmouth. 

He has been charged with attempt murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.  He is considered armed and dangerous.
