James City County, Va. – A James City County man was arrested on moonshine and alcohol charges on Thursday after ABC agents searched his property.

64-year-old Ronald Leroy Lassiter was taken into custody in the 100 block of Selby Lane after the search.

Lassiter was arrested for five misdemeanor charges of possession of untaxed alcoholic beverages (moonshine), five misdemeanor charges for the sale of alcoholic beverages without a license and two felony charges for the sale of alcoholic beverages while in the possession of a firearm.

ABC agents seized three gallons of untaxed alcohol (moonshine), more than $4,900 in U.S. currency, four firearms and various amounts of taxed alcoholic beverages (beer and spirits).

The year-long investigation by the ABC Hampton Regional Office and Special Operations Division was sparked by a complaint.

Lassiter is being held in Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail on a $3,500 bond.
