Norfolk, Va. - A crew of about 200 sailors will help fight against piracy near the Horn of Africa.
Over the summer, NewsChannel 3’s Mike Mather was in Mayport, Florida as the Nicholas hauled in a massive amount of drugs, captured from drug smugglers.
The crew of the USS Nicholas set sail Saturday out of Naval Station Norfolk.
The Guided Missile Frigate is heading to the US 5th Fleet area near the Persian Gulf.
