Man shot in Hampton; school placed on lockdown as a precaution

Hampton, Va. - Police are now investigating after they say a man was shot in Hampton.

It happened at Lewis and Big Bethel Road in Hampton. According to Corporal Jason Price, a man received a single gunshot wound to the shoulder. He was transported to a local  hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Aberdeen Elementary School was placed on lockdown as a precaution.

Corporal Price says police do not yet have any suspect information.

Students are not believed to be in danger at this time.
