State police investigate trailer fire on the Eastern Shore

Nelsonia, Va. – Virginia State Police are investigating a trailer fire on the Eastern Shore.

State police say the blaze happened around 9:25pm in the 16000 block of Lankford Highway in Nelsonia.

Officials have yet to confirm if the blaze is connected to almost 50 arsons set on the Eastern Shore since mid-November.

Reward for tips leading to arrest of Eastern Shore arsonist increased to $25,000

A single-wide metal trailer was unoccupied and used by the owners to block the public from looking into the back of their property. No injuries were reported and the fire is still under criminal investigation.

Anyone with information about the previous arsons is asked to call the Virginia State Police toll-free at 1-800-582-8350 or (757) 424-6820; or call the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office at (757) 787-1131. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information on the Accomack County fires that leads to an arrest and conviction.
