Virginia Beach, Va. - A man is now in custody after a SWAT team responded to a standoff situation in the 1600 block of Chase Arbor Commons.
Michael Richard Augustus, Jr., 43 has been arrested.
The call came in just after 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Beach police were assisting Norfolk police in reference to someone wanted for questioning about some crimes in Norfolk.
At 10:42 a.m., crews responded to the scene. Police believed the suspect was armed. They say barricaded himself in the apartment.
Police say it appeared someone left the apartment earlier, and he was alone. Occupants in nearby apartments were evacuated.
