Newport News, Va. - In Newport News, police say a man fired at detectives who were trying to serve a warrant.
SWAT was called in to help.
Police say officers went to a home on Chestnut Street just after 7 p.m. Thursday night to serve a warrant.
Police say just minutes later - someone started shooting at officers from inside the home.
Officers fired back.
Police were able to get several people out of the home - they were all held by police.
That's when SWAT went inside the home to make sure no one else was inside.
No one was hurt in the incident.
Police then served the warrant.
