Driver charged with DUI in fatal Virginia Beach crash

Virginia Beach, Va. - The driver of a car involved in a fatal accident on Ansol Lane in Virginia Beach on Saturday night has been charged with DUI.

The crash happened around 5:25 pm when a 2000 Lincoln LS heading westbound on Ansol Lane at a high rate of speed crossed the eastbound lane and struck several trees.

One of the passengers, 44-year-old Robert Martin Lancaster of Norfolk, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Driver, 35-year-old Michael Douglas McIntyre of Norfolk, and another passenger were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

McIntyre has been charged with DUI, Involuntary Manslaughter and driving with a suspended license.

He is currently being held in jail without bond.
