Virginia Beach, Va. – Approximately 100 Soldiers assigned to Detachment 19, Alpha Company, 48th Combat Support Hospital, are scheduled to leave Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story for Kuwait on Thursday, March 7, 2013.
The deployment will be for nine months, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
The soldiers’ primary responsibility will be to provide medical support to deployed forces. The officer in charge is Capt. Tamela Mitchenor.
A deployment ceremony will take place at 8 a.m. at the US Army Reserve Center on board Joint Expeditionary Base Fort Story.
