Crews reopened NC 12 in North Carolina from the Oregon Inlet Bridge to Rodanthe after it was closed over the weekend due to overwash.
It will remain open until 7:30 p.m. and will close during high tide Monday evening.
Crews say only one direction of traffic can travel on this stretch of NC 12 at a time.
Drivers will be escorted by a pilot vehicle and checkpoints have been set up. Expect a waiting period at the end of the closure.
They expect to open it again Tuesday morning.
