Update: Man accused in Norfolk double homicide turns himself in to police

Update: Police say they have now captured the suspect who has been accused in a double homicide on Friday. 

They say Javou Smith turned himself in on Monday afternoon. 

Norfolk, Va. - Javou J. Smith has turned himself in to police after being accused in a double homicide case in Norfolk.

Smith turned himself in on Monday afternoon.

The victims are identified as Ervin A. Peeples, 46, and Aalon Smith, 34, both of Dreweyville, Va.. They died at the hospital.

The shooting happened just after 2 p.m. in the 6600 block of Cornwallis Lane near Newtown Road.

Smith is now being held on no bond, and he is scheduled for a hearing on March 26th.
