Chesapeake, Va. - The Norfolk State Lady Spartans are the defending MEAC champions.
They won the Championship last year. This year, they finished the year at 21 and 3 in the conference and had a 59 and 29 overall record.
They are ranked eleventh in the country. Friday was the qualifying round.
Eight teams are competing for the championship trophy. Play will resume Saturday morning with the bracket portion of the tournament with the semifinals and final to be contested on Sunday. Check out the action all weekend long at the AMF Lanes off Battlefield Blvd. in Chesapeake.
