NCDOT warns drivers about possible congestion on U.S. routes this spring

Raleigh, N.C. – NCDOT is taking action to save travelers time and money this spring by warning them about several projects that could cause congestion along U.S. routes.

Please be aware of the following projects:

  • Alligator River Bridge on U.S. 64 in Tyrrell and Dare Counties will be closed from April 2-14 for rehabilitation work;
  • U.S. 17 Business in Jacksonville (Onslow County) is reduced to two-lane, two-way traffic on the Buddy Phillips Bridge over the New River for construction of a new bridge; and
  • U.S. 421 in Carolina Beach (New Hanover County) is reduced to one lane in each direction at Snow Cut’s Bridge for rehabilitation work.
