Portsmouth, Va. - Preventing domestic violence - that was the message on Saturday at a Portsmouth Church.
Folks at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church were taught to "be silent no more" during Saturday's workshop.
According to the organizer of the event - one in four women will suffer from domestic violence. And one in five teens will also be abused by a boyfriend or girlfriend.
Those numbers are far too great, according to Cathy Staton of non-profit charity "My Help My Hope".
If you are in an abusive situation - Staton encourages you to speak up and get help by contacting a local shelter.
