Citizens can now send tips to Hampton police from Android phones

Posted

Hampton, Va. -You can now take action against crime from the palm of your hand.

Hampton Police have a new app that lets Droid users send tips to police.

The app also lets police respond to the tip. But you’ll still be anonymous.

The app has been available for iPhone users, but now it’s available for Droid users, too.

The HPD Tips app can be downloaded online at the Google Play store. In 2011, the Hampton Police Division released a similar application for the iPhone which can be downloaded utilizing iTunes. Both applications are available for free.

Citizens can also send an anonymous tip to the Hampton Police Division by texting the word 757HPD and their tip to 847411.
