On Tuesday, we remember the lives lost when a gunman opened fire on the Virginia Tech campus.
Today is the sixth anniversary of the 2007 massacre.
32 victims were killed - the gunman took his own life.
It's considered the deadliest shooting rampage in U.S. history.
April 16 is the official statewide Day of Remembrance.
At the stroke of midnight, a ceremony candle was lit and will remain so for 24 hours. And at 9:43 a.m. this morning, a statewide moment of silence was observed.
There are local ceremonies scheduled for this evening - the Tidewater Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association is hosting a sunset memorial. It will be from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Virginia Tech Hampton Roads Graduate Center.
That's at 1444 Diamond Springs Road in Virginia Beach.
