Transit police officer injured in Boston shootout is VMI grad, reports say

The transit police officer injured overnight in gunfire exchange with the two Boston Marathon bomber suspects is a 2002 Virginia Military Institute alumnus, according to a recent report from WTVR/CBS 6 in Richmond, Va.

Richard “Dic” Donohue Jr., age 33, is a Massachusetts native, according to press reports. CNN reports that he has been with the Massachusetts Transit Authority for three years.
