Norfolk, Va. – Three adults and three children under the age of 15 have now been displaced, after a fire severely damaged their home, officials tell NewsChannel 3.
Norfolk fire crews responded to the scene of a house fire in the 900 block of Louisa Street in the Berkley section of the city Wednesday morning.
Units arrived to find a single story home with heavy smoke showing.
The majority of the fire was contained quickly, officials say.
According to Captain Mike Hicks with the Norfolk Fire Department, there has been substantial damage to the residence.
No one was found inside the residence. No injuries have been reported.
Red Cross assistance has been requested for the victims.
The 900 block of Louisa Street will remain closed until approximately 12:00 p.m.
