Norfolk, Va. – A 24-year-old Hampton man was sentenced to 32 years in prison for armed robbery. He was also given five years of supervised release.

Officials say Christian Lamont Johnson robbed several businesses in Hampton Roads at gunpoint including the Approved Cash Check Advance in Norfolk and a 7-Eleven in Hampton.

During the 7-Eleven incident, officials say someone spotted Johnson getting into a vehicle, followed him and reported it to police. They say Johnson then led them on a wild high-speed chase that ended 30 minutes later in Chesapeake when he hit a median and crashed into a few trees.

He got out of the car and ran, according to officials, but he was caught shortly afterward.
