House fire near Hampton Boulevard ruled suspicious

Posted

Norfolk, Va. – Firefighters have responded to a house fire in the 200 block of Glendale Avenue in Norfolk, officials tell NewsChannel 3. That’s near Hampton Boulevard.

Captain Mike Hicks of Norfolk Fire and Rescue says units arrived on scene around 7:30 a.m. and found smoke and flames coming from the two story, single family home.

The structure is vacant, crews say, and there are “No Trespassing” signs posted in the area.

Fire officials on scene are ruling it a suspicious fire.

The 200 block of Glendale Avenue is closed for one block in both directions because of fire equipment on the ground. The fire has been put out, but hot spots remain.
