Suffolk, Va. – Suffolk Fire and Rescue crews and police are currently on the scene of a gas leak in the 200 block of North Division Street in the downtown area.
A contractor struck a gas line while digging in the area, and dispatch was notified at 9:58 a.m. Thursday morning.
Three nearby homes have been evacuated as a precautionary measure.
Virginia Natural Gas crews are en route.
