Two rescued after skydivers are blown into trees in Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach, Va. – Virginia Beach fire and rescue units rescued two skydivers who were part of a group that was blown off course and into trees in the area of Vaughan Town Court Sunday afternoon.

Three skydivers were conducting a demonstration around 1:20 pm when strong winds blew them into the trees. One was able to free himself. A second skydiver was freed by a Virginia Beach Fire Dept. ladder truck and the third was rescued by the department’s Technical Rescue Team.

One of the two refused treatment at the scene, the other was transported to a hospital. There is no word yet on the extent of their injuries.
