Person stabbed in Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach, Va. – Two people are now in custody and charged with malicious assault after a shooting and stabbing incident in Virginia Beach, police tell NewsChannel 3.

It happened at 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013. Officers responded to a report of a shooting at Old Clubhouse Road and Wimbledon Way.

Responding officers say the victim and a suspect were involved in an altercation; the suspect is a juvenile.

During the altercation, another suspect approached the scene, produced a weapon, and fired two shots. No one was injured in the shooting.

The suspect then stabbed the victim. The victim was then transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The first suspect left the scene, according to police, but was taken into custody at Shipps Corner and Holland Road. The second suspect was also taken into custody at a residence in the 3200 block of Wimbledon Way.

The first suspect is identified as a 17-year-old male of the 1500 block of Cape Ann Way in Virginia Beach. He is charged with Malicious Assault and being held in the Virginia Beach Juvenile Detention Center.

The second suspect is identified as 29-year-old Aaron Markeith Gerald of the 900 block of East 28th Street in Norfolk. He is charged with Malicious Assault, Use of a Firearm, Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He is currently being held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.
