A 16-year-old male student at Woodrow Wilson High School has been arrested after making threats on Facebook.
On Tuesday morning, a School Resource Officer was notified of the threat incident involving the 10th grader.
The SRO found that the student took pictures of guns and posted them to Facebook along with comments alluding to shooting up the school.
The guns belong to the student’s family and the student had pried open a container where they were stored and photographed them before returning them to the original container.
The student has been charged with one count of threatening bodily harm.
He is currently in the custody of the Chesapeake Detention Center until a hearing in Portsmouth Juvenile Domestic Relations Court.
His identity has not been released.
The school was not placed on lockdown and there was no evidence that the guns were ever taken to or near the school.
