Chowan County, N.C. - Two people died Friday after officials say a boat ran aground on the Yeopim River near Elizabeth City, N.C.

Saturday, authorities identified the men as Daniel Manke of Hertford and Blaine Weyant of Edenton.  Edward White survived the crash and was taken to the hospital after being rescued by the Coast Guard.

Coast Guard crews aboard a 25-foot Response Boat, a 24-foot Special Purpose Craft - Shallow Water from Coast Guard Station Elizabeth City and an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City took part in the operation. The Harvey Point Rescue boat crew also responded.

Personnel from Harvey Point Rescue assisted one boater from shore, where he was hoisted into the Jayhawk helicopter and flown to the Albermarle Hospital in Elizabeth City.

Chowan County and North Carolina Wildlife also assisted.
