Police investigate shooting at a party in Edenton

Edenton, NC – Edenton police say three people were shot just after midnight at the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue and Cox Avenue during a party.

There was a large crowd in the area when officers responded, and the three people had been taken to Chowan Hospital by friends shortly before the officers arrived.

The victims have been identified as Kenyatta Stevenson, 26, of Tyner, NC, Rayshawn White, 28, of Edenton and Thomas White Jr., 27, of Edenton.

Police say Stevenson suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and abdomen, and was airlifted to Vidant Hospital in Greenville. He is in stable condition.

Rayshawn White suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and is being treated at Vidant Hospital in Edenton. He is in serious condition.

Thomas White Jr. was treated and released at Vidant Hospital in Edenton for a gunshot wound to the leg.
