Atlee Raiders take on Great Bridge Wildcats

Posted

It was a great day for softball. The Atlee Raiders took on the Great Bridge Wildcats. The winner advances to the state semifinals on Friday.

The raiders look to strike early.  The very first pitch of the game junior Cathcer Cameron Hall laces a single.

She then would show her speed by stealing second base.

Great bridge pitcher Sydney Harless would retire the next three batters to end the raider threat.

Bottom of the second and the wildcats get something cooking of their own Delaney Ambrose with a single to right.

Mikayla parker with a single up the middle and we have wildcats on first and second.

Raider pitcher Jessica Holte would induce the double play ball when Sydney Harless bounces to Annamarie Wooley who applies the tag on parker and throws over to first to get Harless.

Top of the fifth and the raiders threaten again Chloe Carr would misplay the Raine Wilson grounder and we have raiders on first and second.

But Sydney Harless gets Shelby Hill to hit into a pop out to end the inning.

Bottom of the sixth, after a walk to Marlowe Paulk, Chloe Carr would drill the Holte pitch to left - Paulk advances to third and Carr take second on the throw

That bring up Delaney Ambrose and she would deliver, a 2 run single to right and the Wildcats are up two to nothing on the Raiders.

Top the of the seventh, bases full of raiders with two outs and Sydney Harless gets Blair Jones with the strike out - great bridge advances to the state semi-finals two to nothing

We caught up with the winners after the game.
