York Co., Va. – VDOT bridge maintenance crews have scheduled single-lane northbound closures on the George P. Coleman Memorial Bridge (Route 17 north) on Sunday, June 9, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., that will also require two traffic stops of up to 30-minutes each in the northbound direction.
Maritime traffic will be impacted.
The single-lane closures are necessary to allow crews to perform electrical-mechanical work to the bridge. The bridge will remain fully operational throughout the work; however, two 30-minute northbound traffic stops will occur between 9 a.m. and noon to allow crews to reposition equipment. This will be the final scheduled lane closure for this project.
The scheduled maintenance activities are weather dependent. In the event of rain, the work will occur June 16, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
