Portsmouth, Va. – Portsmouth Police are updating a shooting that occurred on Tuesday night around 10:30 p.m. in the area of the 2400 block of Elm Street.
Officers responded to calls of shots fired and found a 29-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso in the area of Brighton Elementary School.
Medics transported the man to Sentara Norfolk General. He is expected to recover but remains hospitalized.
