Virginia Beach, Va. – A man is facing a reckless driving charge after police say he struck a state trooper’s vehicle on the interstate Monday night.
It happened on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 11:15 p.m. Virginia Beach police and State Police were assisting in the transportation of a Super Haul/oversized load. Senior Trooper J. L. Peters was beginning to attempt a slow roll (slowing traffic) on I-264 westbound west of Birdneck Road, in Virginia Beach, when a 2012 Chrysler, driven by Randor L. Uzzle, Jr., was traveling at a high rate of speed and struck the Trooper’s vehicle in the rear.
Police say Trooper Peters and Uzzle both suffered non-life threatening injuries and were both transported to Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Randor Uzzle of Norfolk was charged with reckless driving at the scene.
