Isle of Wight – VDOT bridge maintenance crews have scheduled a single-lane northbound closure at the Route 17 James River Bridge on Tuesday, June 11, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.
The lane closure is required to test the two standby diesel generators that were recently installed.
No test lifts will be necessary and maritime traffic will not be impacted. VDOT attempts to schedule maintenance during travel periods when traffic volumes are lower, to reduce impact to motorists.
