Currituck County, N.C. - No one was hurt when a grain silo collapsed onto train tracks in Currituck County around 5pm on Tuesday.
Officials say a silo at Currituck Grain Inc. on Caratoke Highway collapsed and spilled grain onto train tracks behind the property. The railroad will be shut down for some time while the grain is cleaned up.
The spill also caused a natural gas leak that was secured by Piedmont Gas Company.
And inspector from Currituck Planning was called to look at the structural integrity of the adjacent structures. There is no word yet on the cause of the collapse.
