Sussex County, Va. - A massive manhunt is underway for a suspect police say is armed and dangerous in Sussex County off Route 301.
They are looking for Dorel Pickett who they say ran from police during a traffic stop.
Police initiated the traffic stop on I-95 SB in Stony Creek for speeding. The officers believed the two people in the car may have had heavy narcotics. When they tried to detain one of the people in the car, Pickett ran away.
Initially, police thought Pickett stole a shotgun, but the weapon was later found. Police say the suspect did take a camouflage jacket that he is now wearing along with blue jeans. Police are not sure if the suspect has a gun of his own, so they are considering him to be armed and dangerous.
He is described as a black man with a muscular build. He stands 6ft tall and is about 240 lbs.
