Suffolk, Va. – Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to a single vehicle accident in the 3200 block of White Marsh Road Sunday afternoon.
The 50-year-old man operating the scooter at the time of the accident reported that a car was in his lane causing him to run off the left side of the road into a ditch.
The patient suffered non-life threatening injuries and was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital via Nightingale transport.
The man was alert and conscious at the time of the transport.
The name of the victim is not being released until his family has been notified.
The accident remains under investigation.
