Newport News, Va. – Starting July 16th, James M. “Jim” Bourey will take over as city manager in Newport News.
City Council made the announcement Tuesday night. Bourey will replace Neil Morgan who retired at the end of May.
Bourey is now Director of Corporate Development with an accounting/financial services firm in Greenville, South Carolina. He was also the city manager of Greenville from 2004-2010.
Bourey, who was chosen from a group of 42 applicants, comes with over 35 years of local government experience.
