Hampton, Va. – A man was found stabbed Tuesday morning at a Hampton 7-Eleven store, police tell NewsChannel 3.

Officers originally were called out to the 1700 block of Pembroke Avenue for reports of a shooting victim. When they arrived, they found that the victim was not shot, but rather suffering from an apparent stab wound.

The 49-year-old man told police that he left work this morning at the shipyard and stopped at a truck vendor at 46th Street and Washington Avenue to get food.

He then drove to 27th Street and Chestnut Avenue and he realized that he had blood on his shoulder. He continued to drive until he got to the 7-Eleven on W. Pembroke Avenue.

The man walked into the store and then laid down on the floor. He was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries to the upper torso.
