Man takes cell phones in Portsmouth nTelos store robbery

Portsmouth, Va. – A man is wanted for taking cell phones from a Portsmouth nTelos store during a robbery this morning, police tell NewsChannel 3.

At 10:08 a.m., Portsmouth Police Communications received a 911 call reporting a robbery at the nTelos Wireless store at 3405 Tyre Neck Road.

Police say a man entered the store with a gun, tied up an employee with tape and forced the worker into a storage room. The victim managed to escape and call 911 after the man left the store with numerous cell phones.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black man, 5’6 – 5’8 tall, wearing dark clothing.
