A 28-year-old man was rescued from the Oregon Inlet on Wednesday by the Coast Guard after his 16-foot boat collapsed near the Bonner Bridge.
Dare County 911 dispatchers contacted Coast Guard Sector North Carolina watchstanders around 6:15 p.m. after someone reported seeing a man on top of a capsized vessel waving his arms.
A Coast Guard crew was dispatched on a 25-foot response boat to assist.
The crew arrived on scene around 6:30 p.m. and retrieved the man from the water and took him to Station Oregon Inlet.
There were no reports of any injuries.
