Newport News, Va. – A driver struck the front of a Newport News restaurant Thursday morning, police tell NewsChannel 3.
It happened on Thursday, June 27, around 7:45 a.m. A 37-year-old Newport News woman was driving a Toyota Corolla and was pulling into a parking space in front of Inferno, located on Jefferson Avenue. Police say the driver stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake, and struck the front of the business.
Officials responded to the scene to inspect the building. The building is deemed structurally sound.
No injuries were reported. Police say the front of the vehicle was damaged, but still functioning.
The driver has not been charged.
