Two firefighters injured in Beach house fire

Virginia Beach, Va. – Two firefighters were injured Thursday morning while battling a house fire in the Salem section of the city.

One firefighter was transported to the hospital with a shoulder injury; another firefighter was transported to the hospital after being struck in the face during the overhaul procedure.

It happened around 7 a.m. in the 2100 block of Seabury Circle off of Salem Road. The fire began in the rear of the home. Three adults and one or two children were in the home at the time, officials tell NewsChannel 3. All occupants made it out of the burning home safely.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire at this time.

The left rear side of the home has been severely damaged.
