FORT MYERS, Fla. — A Fort Myers teenager fishing 30 miles off the coast took the ride of a lifetime in early June.
Nineteen-year-old Chris Kreis hopped off the boat and onto the back of a 30-foot whale shark as it passed by.
Kreis’s says he couldn’t resist jumping in–for a ride. The whale shark let Kreis ride on his back for a few seconds.
Kreis says he got out of the water shortly after the ride when he saw more aggressive sharks nearby.
Despite their size, whale sharks are typically very docile fish that don’t harm humans.
