Woman arrested for heroin possession in Dare County

Dare Co., N.C. – A Kill Devil Hills woman is now behind bars and facing numerous drug related charges.

On June 27, the Dare County Narcotics Task Force conducted an investigation into a woman bringing heroin to Dare County from Portsmouth, Virginia for the purpose of sale.

Task Force Officers, along with Portsmouth Police Officers, were able to identify and arrest the suspect.

The suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Elca Saliasi of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.

Saliasi is charged with Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Heroin; Possession of Heroin; and Maintaining a Vehicle, Dwelling, or Place to Keep a Controlled Substance.

Saliasi has been taken into the custody of the Dare County Detention Center in lieu of $25,000 bond, according to Chief Deputy Steve Hoggard.
