Hampton Police have arrested two men wanted in connection to a shooting that occurred on Sunday.
Hampton Police received a call around 1:00 a.m. regarding someone brandishing a weapon in the first block of Locust Avenue. While officers were en route to the scene, the complaint was upgraded to a shooting.
Officers arrived to find a 20-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. She was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The investigation revealed that the woman had been holding a gathering at her home when two unknown individuals got into a fight.
One of the people, identified as 19-year-old Javon Antonio Parson, left and returned a short time later in a light colored sedan. Parson then allegedly shot at the residence from the vehicle, striking the victim.
Parson was arrested Thursday and charged with one count of maiming and one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He’s now incarcerated in the Hampton City Jail.
A second man, 21-year-old Tamell Hakeen Paden, was also charged with one count of maiming and one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is currently incarcerated in the Newport News City Jail on unrelated charges.
