Man shot during robbery in Newport News

A 22-year-old man was shot in the left arm and chest Wednesday night in the Tarrytown Court apartments in Newport News.

Police say the victim was outside his apartment complex when he was approached by three unknown men.

One of the men produced a handgun while the other two went through the victim’s pockets.

The men stole the victim’s keys, cell phone, and other personal items.

The victim was shot and the men fled through the apartment complex towards Adams Drive.

The first suspect is described as a black male, 16 to 17 years old, 5’8-5’9, 200 lbs, with a little facial hair, wearing a white and orange T-shirt.

The second suspect is described as a black male, 22 to 23 years old, 5’6 to 5’7 with a goatee, wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a black bandanna and handgun.

And the third suspect is described as a black male with dreadlocks or corn rows.
