Newport News, Va. – A man has been charged with abuse and neglect of his mother-in-law in Newport News, police tell NewsChannel 3.
52-year-old Stefurn Berry is facing charges for abusing his 90-year-old mother-in-law at Mary Immaculate Hospital.
It happened on June 1, 2013. Police say the elderly woman was brought into the hospital with evidence of physical neglect. She was found suffering from bed sores and other problems. The Newport News Special Victims Unit began an investigation into the case, which involves other family members in the home.
